I am so pissed off at Amazon

My mom and I both placed orders that were supposed to arrive by Friday June 16th (birthday gifts for my brother).

I placed an order for a Canon Elph2 on Monday morning and it was supposed to ship within 24 hours (it is now 2 and a half days). I contacted them yesterday and they upgraded it to 2nd day air for free. I contacted them again this afternoon and was told that it was scanned and would definitely ship out tonight and get to me by Friday. I just contacted Amazon 5 minutes ago and was informed that my order has been scanned, will be shipped tomorrow, and probably won't get to me until Monday. The representative told me that he would upgrade it to Same day air if he could, but it is already at the final stage of the packing process. I was so angry that the customer rep I spoke with this afternoon didn't upgrade it for me and LIED about it definitely getting to me by Friday. I can't believe Amazon is being so irresponsible with my order.

My mom placed an order for a Handspring Visor Deluxe yesterday (also supposed to ship out within 24 hours) via 2nd day air. Estimated delivery time: June 16th. After contacting Amazon a couple of minutes ago, I got a free shipping upgrade that guaranteed that she would receive it by Friday.

This is ridiculous. I am so frustrated. I was planning to give the Elph2 to my brother on Sunday as a birthday present. I can't believe Amazon screwed me over like this.

Amazon contacted me today. They're refunding me for the cost of shipping, giving me a $10 GC code, e-mailing my brother a letter of apology, and giving my brother a $25 GC code.

I'm still not happy about the gift arriving late, but I am extremely happy with the way Amazon is handling this situation. I applaud the Amazon customer service staff for their willingness to try to make things right...specifically Keri S. and Susan C.

Let's just hope the other gift does actually arrive tomorrow.

although it sucks that they screwed you over on the delay of shipping, its comforting that they took some initiative to make you feel better about the whole ordeal.. i've had wonderful CS from them all along. amazon still kicks the crap out of other etailers, even when they mess up..

I'm glad to hear that amazon owned up to the mistakes they made. Its nice to know that some companies actually care.

I can only imagine how many orders that Amazon takes a day. The least I ever seen CarParts do was about 300 orders.

Amazon better do what they can to keep their customers and be really nice. It's not like they can afford to lose any business, since they have never posted a profitable quater.

Update on my mom's Amazon order. I checked the site and discovered that the Handspring Visor Deluxe still has NOT shipped out. At this point, I am pissed off beyond belief. Amazon is so incompetent and unreliable when it comes to getting orders out promptly.

I spoke with an order specialist 5 minutes ago and he informed me that it would not be shipped out till tomorrow, which would result in a Monday arrival. After hearing my rants, he agreed to contact UPS and make a special request for a Saturday delivery; he assured me that package #2 would arrive on Saturday. After I asked about compensation for disgruntled customers (again...already got smthg for package #1), he agreed to refund my shipping charge of $10.80 and send me another $10 GC code. Let's see if Amazon's words hold true this time.

Package #2 was shipped out last night at 8:15pm and was delivered this morning at 10:35am. Amazon came through big time with the shipping on this item.
