I had question guys. I recently bought a MD player/recorder and I was wondering how you guys record from computer to your md player. Are you guys doing it analog. I found out you can do it using a pc link. Is this true and if so where could I get one? And aslo what does the s/pdif on my sound card do? Can you hook up the Md player to that and record? If so what kind of cable would i need for that? Thanks guys. __________________ I use my digital output I got on my comp, toslink all the way baby.__________________ I want digital recording from comp =(I wonder if there is an addon card that can produce digital soud from my comp. I have TSB Montego right now anyone knoe of an addon card of a good sound card that has OPTICAL out? Kflinstone the easiest recording line and cheapest but quality may suffer a little is to use the analog recording. via mini to mini cable. __________________ From what I know this Korean company Hoontech makes digital outs, but I think for Live!'s only as of now. Contact them though. This is there page: http://www.hoontech.com/english/index.html ------------------ And at band camp. . . http://www.geocities.com/bandtour99 __________________ thanks a bunch, I have been looking around after just getting a minidisc. That site rocks ... now I just gotta wait for a paycheck.... I don't suppose anyone has a 75 dollars off a 75.01+ purchase there?__________________ there are a few add on cards that gives optical out. aureal sq2500 is another sound card that has optical built in. if you can't afford another sound card and have a dvd player with optical out + cd burner, i suggest burning songs on a CD, then using your dvd player to transfer the songs to md.__________________ I still have a question. I just got my toss link with mini adapters and i still don't understand how to connect it to my computer to record from my computer to my md. I have a soundblaster live value card which has an s/pdif slot. I was wondering if that's the optical out on the card. I connected the md player and the spdif slot and my md player says no signal. Do i need some kind program to record using optical or am i just messing it up here. Please help. flinstone __________________ The s/pdif port you're talking about is a coaxial digital port, toslink is fiber optics. Two different types of digital inputs. So, you'll need to get the live drive II for toslink or get a convertor from toslink to coaxial digital.__________________ the s/pdif is a Dolby Digital signal for Dolby digital receivers for surround sound. So far, the best set of speakers we have for use in conjuction w/ the Live is a set of 5.1 surrounds. The OLD (no longer in production) Optical I/O card will connect to the small header on the Live Value. Therefore, the Hoontech cards should do it too. (Customers have reported that the hoontech cards work well with the Live series. __________________ Thanks a lot guys. Well i just ordered the optical i/o card from creative. Although it wasn't that cheap i bought it. I hope it is pretty good. Thanks for all the help guys. Flinstone Mavi forum |
