need advice

I already own a dreamcast. The reason I bought it was kind of to hold me off until a better system came out. Another reason I bought it was that the graphics were better than the N64 and Playstation and that's the only reason Sega has sold so many consoles.

If you don't have a dreamcast already (or can't get one for a price that won't hold you back on getting the ps2), I'd just wait until fall of this year to get a Playstation 2. It should be around $299-$370. If you have not seen some videos of Playstation 2 games, I'd recommend you head over to ps2.ign.com and see for yourself how it looks.

I also think that Sony will eventually be the more popular system, as long as they can get their price down a bit and Nintendo doesn't come out with something REALLY good for REALLY cheap.

That's my opinion. Other ppl's may be different. I'd look forward to hearing from others here.

I bought the Dreamcast because it was dirt cheap. Got it for $99 during the whole Value America fiasco. Them, I got most of my games for dirt cheap at accompany.com too.

It was just really inexpensive for what it does. That's why I got it. Code: Veronica is awesome, btw.

Oops. Never answered your question, huh?

Anyway, if you MUST have a game system NOW, then get it. If you can wait for the PS2, then sit tight. By then, if you still think the PS2 isn't that great, the Dreamcast will have dropped in price (hopefully).

here's a question, what's "better", dreamcast, or ps2? i know ps2 isn't out yet, but from word of mouth, the ps2 isn't really THAT impressive. i've actually seen dreamcast games, and i must say, REALLY nice. if you had to choose one, would you wait on the ps2, and pay an EXTRAORDINARYLY large amount of money for it? or would you try to use the Staples coupon on it...er... i mean or would you just buy the dreamcast now?

Hopefully Sony won't screw up the North American version of the PS2 by not including a DVD.
