Need to know if rogaine really works

Hey Importedpimp, can you tell me if rogaine really works? I know you used it before, but it didn't seem to help you. Can you tell me if it depends on the person or not?

My friend tried it... hes bald now!!!!

it depends one the person... he said it helped slow down the process of hair loss, but he still lost hair... slower rate....

Give it a try, it could only do you good... either you grow some grass or your just goin have a shinny hill...

I tried it and it didn't work for me. And it is only for the loss of hair at that spot at the rear of your head.It will definitely not do anything for the hair in front of your head. But it supposedly works for some people; although I never met anyone that had any luck with it.

Rogaine (minoxidil) is an anti-hypertension medication. Some folks noticed that the SIDE EFFECTS was some hair growth. So Upjohn decided, hey we can make money off this side effect too (the American way)

Anyway, the reason I told you all that is b/c results do vary from individual to individual (as side effects tend to do) and it may not work for everyone.

Another bit of useful info: if it does work, you need to continue using it for LIFE. Otherwise, the hair you grow will fall out. So it is a financial commitment as well.

Hope this helps.

Oh I forgot to add...
When Upjohn decided to remarket rogaine to treat hair loss, they reduced the dose, so that the anti-hypertensive effects aren't too pronounced.

Well, I'm running through my 2nd year now and tackling Cardiology which I actually seem to like.

As far as drugs being marketed for side effects, Viagra was originally supposed to work like Nitro for cardiac patients by increasing NO release. Apparently it worked more on endothelial tissue in the groin rather than the heart!

Believe it or not, Pfizer would actually have made more money if it did work on the heart. Cardio drugs rule the world!

I have read in one site (forgot the name) that the exact way that Rogaine works is not known though it is used to treat male pattern baldness.

It is also advised that people should not use Rogaine on damaged, irritated, or sunburned scalp. Because this may allow more of the medication to be absorbed by the body, which (they say) could be dangerous.

And applying it on other areas other than scalp is also not advised.

search the net for more info!
