Aww, crap, Tivo rebate is a pain...

Was going to get my father one of the Tivo's on sale at Mercata ($260-$100 rebate). But, the fine print on the rebate says I have to have the service activated by the 30th of the month (fat chance, considering it'll get delivered way after) and you must have the service activated during the rebate processing. My question is this: do you think they'll have a similar rebate in the future, or...historically, has this $100 rebate been kicking around, and just refreshing, or am I looking at paying $100 more for my Dad's christmas present?
