I swear, they should enter "Drug Testing" as an olympic event, cause thats all they seem to care about. The "precision" of it. Actually what pisses me off is the fact that they stripped the Romanian 16 year old Raducan of her gold medal cause she took cold medicine. Ok, tell me if this doesn't sound right, they say that they know she's "innocent" but they have to take it away from her. Damnit, its cold medicine, i doubt one dose of cold medicine to just make her feel NORMAL from her sickness, enhanced her performance any. Even when the bronze medal filtered down to the chinese, she basically said she didn't deserve this because she didn't believe any drug could help perform like that for the gymnastics, saying that it was based on strength of mind and focus. PISSES ME OFF. I HATE THE IOC, BUNCH OF CORRUPT OLD PUNKS. __________________ :0)__________________ ok, they shouldn't've just let her keep her gold medal. If she could perform that well while jacked up on Nyquil, they should give her a freaking gold mine for that performance and skill while doped. I'm also still pissed about taking away the snowboarder's medal the other year for having tiny traces of weed, but that is slightly more understandable. I just have to stand up for the boarder because that is my sport of choice, and I gotta back-up my fellow competition boarders...although he could beat me down into the ground...ProMinx __________________ I agree with you that they shouldn't have taken her all around gold medal away . . . it's sad . . . but ALSO . . . it's not simply the fact that she took cold medicine . . . if it were that simple, it wouldn't be an issue. The problem is that the Romanian doctor who was banned from the Olympics gave her cold medicine with Ephedrine in it (which IS a banned Olympic substance) . . . of course . . . she wasn't guilty of KNOWINGLY taking it . . . which is why they only took away ONE medal . . . but still . . . I agree . . . it's crappy. (Of course, for those who lost, you have to wonder whether they would have won if she had not had the ephedrine in her system)__________________ Butch, your response belies your supreme crapulence. What the hell are you talking about? I took a Contact the other day, and was passed out in about 15 minutes. If she can take TWO cold pills and flip and tumble around like she's on fire, more power to her. The ephedrine probably hindered her, considering few of the women's gymnastics events are strength-dependant. More like they're predicated upon precise muscle memory and mental concentration. If she can control her muscles WITH ephedrine and also concentrate with two different cold medicines, she's even better than what we saw.And didn't Ross Regbeliatti (a Canadian hero) get his medal back? I think he got off with the "it was contact high" defense... He's still a folk hero up at Whistler... __________________ they should make an olymipcs where you have to take all kinds of drugs, it'd be mroe interesting and every world record would be broken Mavi forum |
