Campaign Finance Reform...

...can never truely be enacted without severely infringing on the Bill Of Rights.

Better to just not let these carpetbaggers have our $$$ in the first place by eliminating Federal Income Tax. Then we can all say a welcome good-by to Pork Barrel Politics (at least in the National Arena)

I see your lunacy persists.

But seriously, as much as I'd like to see some campaign finance reform, like you said, the goddamn bill of rights just keeps getting in the way.
And even more seriously, I think there is a place for the federal goverment. A slimmed down version? Yup, but certainly not the size you predict. You realize that by imposing a massive tax on capital gains, you'd drive most of the investors out of the market, causing what? That's right, boys and girls, a market crash, putting tons of people out of business and work, and letting the air out of tons of peoples' retirement plans. How can you be so cold hearted as to put a lot of retired people out in the street?
