Recommendations for a DVD library...

Well, I just bought my first DVD player and I'm addicted. I got the Columbia House deal, and the buy.com deal - but I'm having a hard time of thinking of the movies I should get to build my lib. Any recommendations?

Here is what I've bought so far:

Saving Private Ryan
The Shawshank Redemption
Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me
Romeo Must Die
Caddyshack
Animal House
Terminator 2 (coming soon...)
Men in Black (coming soon...)
The Waterboy
Pulp Fiction
American Pie
Erin Brockovich
The Whole Nine Yards
Independance Day
The Sixth Sense

So what are your top 3 suggestions that I should buy, of course with the assistance of apex coupons

Well, actually I have the Matrix on VHS, so I didn't get the DVD. Also, I really didn't care for Fight Club...sorry!, But thanks for the recommendation!

Just an edit: I got the Matrix for 3 bucks off one of Apex's deals! And more importantly, I can't even remember who offerred it - and I haven't even been spammed!

I definitely recommend purchasing Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalow on DVD. It is one of my favorite movies and is one of the two DVDs in my fledgling collection. Definitely get Road Trip when it comes out too.

True Romance...good one, good one. That movie was like Brad Pitt's Oscar(TM) role. Val, Kilmer, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper....DAMN!!!!

In addition to some of the stuff that's been suggested, let me add:

Things that are out now:

Highlander - cheap (under $10), and a classic. And the director's running commentary is great. I don't think it actually discusses the movie for more than 5 minutes.

X-Files Season 1 gift pack - not cheap ($115ish) but looks and sounds a lot better than my collection of VHS tapes - and no commericals or f/x bug.

The Song Remains The Same - ($15ish) Still one of the greatest concert videos ever.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail ($20ish) Another classic.

Then there's stuff that's not out yet, but is coming soon:

Monty Python box sets - ($30-40 ea, 6 of them) Yes, get all 3 seasons of Monty Python's Flying Circus on DVD.

This is Spinal Tap - ($20ish) Write a 10-page essay comparing and contrasting this film with TSRTS, above.

X-Files Season Two Box Set - ($120ish) and Season 3, 4, etc.

Repo Man - ($20-30) A great movie, also available in a 'collector's edition'

Toy Story 1 & 2 Collection ($30-$50) A couple of great films, also available in a collector's edition - most of the Disney CEs are pretty cool, and are worth the extra $.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show ($20ish) The DVD release of this film includes a "Full-length audience participation audio track" - now, if only they'd overlayed digital toilet paper flying at the screen, too.

The Planet of the Apes box set - ($70ish) Sorry, just saw it advertised today, and couldn't resist.

He had a real small part in that excellent movie. Perhaps u ment 12 monkeys.

Others that are a must, to me anyway are The Die Hard Films, Aliens, Tombstone, Rush Hour, The 5th Element, Heat, LA Confidential and Face Off At least the ones I thought of off hand.
And of course Blade. One Kick-Ass opening.
