Just a reminder on DVD deals for those who don't know

I know this is kinda a "no duh" sort of thing for those who know, but here goes really quick for those who don't. For almost every DVD, it's hard to beat Amazon.com's prices. If you set up a dummy email account and go to the reffer-a-friend link under your account settings page, you can send a one time $5 gift certificate to your dummy email account. Use this when you make your purchase of a DVD/CD/book/small article and you will get $5 dollars instantly taken off from the cost of your order. This means that if you buy a DVD and use the $5 GC, you will get free shipping and $2 off the regular price. It also means that if you are ordering multiple items, ordering them seperately and using a promo $5 GC each time (because you can only use one per order) will save you even more. I hope this has helped someone out there.

Till later,

Billy the Kid

columbia house with the proper code is much better, if you can stand the wait

Does anyone have a current Columbia House code?? I tried to use the killer deal they had a few months back, but it was long since expired. I think it was like 7 dvd's for a total of 48 bux.. that's not bad at all..

Correctly if I'm wrong, It's been a while for me too, but I think the current best deal is with the code "FVQ." You get 8 DVD's for about $80. Which comes down to about $10 per DVD. Not too bad.

Well as i understand it amazon's never made a profit...
chances are they won't be in business forever with that particular fact.. your not helping matters by screwing them.
just my ps2 cents..

look, quite worrying about big government running out of money, they can do just fine on their own without taxing us so damn much!

Just letting everyone know that the code "FVT" still works fine - just click the 3 DVDs for a cent picture on the redone site, and then you'll be back to the old look and you can enter a code.

It doesn't matter whether they've made a profit yet. Nobody cares about that. All that matters is their future growth potential, and Amazon has considerable potential for growth. Nobody expects them to have profits now . . . they're all expecting the profits in the future . . . they'll be around for a good long time.

Of course nobody's helping them stay in business by screwing them . . . but the fact that they're not making money NOW is a moot point.

Yes, it's like demanding profit out of a Tree Farm in the first year; some things take time to grow
