What's the deal with Computer Memory?!?

It's still three weeks before the Christmas shopping season and computer mem is so cheap I feel I should pick a few DIMMS up to use as bookmarks. What's going on? I bought at $70, figuring it would go back up. Three weeks later, it's down below $60.
