Echo and other deals

I just want to vent.

I like visiting the deals forums on many different boards however there seems to be a problem with keeping some things to yourself. I have been listening to echo since they started their service. I used to get my GC in 2 days. Now its been taking over a month. Why, because some people need to abuse the system and post for referalls all over the net. Can't you figure out that these companies can not handle this type of outcome. I think echo is a great service for really doing nothing. The pay is really good compared to others. Look at Alladvantage and other pay to surf companies. They are either out of money or are closing their doors. Maybe it's time that some people wake up and realize that it is nice to get rewarded for things but by plastering the info all over the net just makes it worse. I have 4 friends in my echo line and I don't want to add any more. I think that is sufficient. I can understand where echo is coming from. How can they pay everyone $18 GC all the time. I'm sure they don't have that kind of funds. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned and other deals won't get killed like this one. I look for freeride to do the same. Too many people using it and not enough funds. It was nice while it lasted and I hope that if you find a good deal....maybe you should keep it to yourself. Otherwise you are wasting your time because it will eventually die down and you will lose out. Just my 2 cents worth. Go ahead and flame me but reality is reality.

I think you've got this bass-ackwards. Their OWN BUSINESS model is based on virulent marketing, the fact that one person'll tell another person. You do realize their advertising budgets, cost to post music, etc. is positively related to how many people are listening, yes-no? Therefore, the more people that listen, the more money they can charge, the higher their revenue. The flaw is not with people referring (that was what they wanted to do in the first bloody place!), but with their reward system, which is far too easy to cash in. Frankly, the vast majority of people do NOT have hundreds of people in their downline, and as far as I know, spamming is considered illegal with respect to their usage agreement.

And if you're going to vent, put it in the Off-Topic forum.
