Election Chaos!

I love it. 2:30AM PST and nothing is resolved. Bet you people in FL who didn't vote are kicking yourselves square in the ass right about now.

Some of these newscasters are getting damn funny after being kept awake until the next morning of the election. One of the CNN anchors just said "Florida is where everything is screwed up right now."

It seems so wrong that the election is going to be decided by the same number of people that attend the average minor league baseball game.

Recount, baby.

it's not so much as everyone's vote counts, but more of a "if you live in an electoral vote wealthy" state, your vote counts. I feel bad for most of the midwestern states. They really don't get paid too much attention to when it comes to politics. I guess that's the one benefit to living in California/Florida/Texas/New York.

Well, hopefully, this galvanizes the populace to participate more in the next election.

The downside (aside from the obvious if Drunky McDrive wins ) is that whoever wins is going to have basically no approval rating. How do you run a country when less than 50% of the people you're governing disagree? Defensive politics for the next two years, at least.

U invite the losing candidate to join U in a bipartisan administration, that's how

It's not just the big states necessarily . . . although it usually is when the race isn't this close, but in this race . . . even if New Hampshire (The lone bastion of Republican support in the entire Northeast) had gone Democratic and Oregon goes Democratic, then Gore would win and Florida would be irrelevant. There are a ton of other similar combinations . . . Gore is only 10 EV's away . . . there are so many different ways it could have broke . . . it's depressing to think about it.

The interesting thing for me is did the early calling of Florida affect Western voting. I posted that message about Florida yesterday at, what, 5 something o'clock?

Did that prompt more Bush supporters to get out and vote, or did it change to votes of frontrunners? I don't know if there's a way to tell, but it'd be interesting...somewhere like Oregon or Washington, because California was done like dinner...
