In the big debate over supreme court nominees the consistent point that gets missed is presidents don't always get what they expect out of their nominees and many times their hands are tied by the congressional confirmation process anyways. You want to keep abortion legal and available? Forget about the presidency then; it is who we elect [and re~elect] to congress that matters big time. And if the past is any indication the electorate will generally balance off the congress and the presidency by choosing opposing parties to fill each, thus ensuring that we will be taken to hell at the slowest rate rather than accelerating the process. This means the last thing we want is a Democrat in the presidency if it meant the horrific vision of a republican-dominated congress ready to pursue a moral agenda. On the other hand if we all choose a Republican overwhelmingly as president everyone can breath easy and vote for the congressperson or senator who will stand up for a woman's right to choose, end the unjust drug war, lower taxes and fight for freedom of speech on the Internet. Vote No to '3rd Way' politicians like Diane Fienstein. They are the ones leading us to Hell the quickest. ;0)
