tech prob

I am ahving a difficult time with a file Its a .avi file useing real it give me an error msg that reads "unable to render file MP43 decompressor not found" this file will not open in win media player, real player, or jsut the standard media viewer that comes with windows Is this file junk or is their a way that i am not seeing to open this?? I can not find anyhting along the line of plugins or MP43 or anything similar from real can anyone help? [Edited by The Happy Squirrel on 11-16-2000 at 05:40 PM] __________________ could it be an asf file? or a divx file? you problably just dont have to codec for it. __________________ nope its avi but i also have asf's that do not work either what is codec?? brian not working today explain what i need to get and what to do __________________ avi's can be encoded in many different formats (ie raw data, mpeg 1 2 3) asf is the Microsoft version of Mpeg 4 (Divx is another version) i'm guessing from the "MP43" that its an Mpeg 4 file.
