Fun stuff to do in Boston?

I'm heading to Boston for 4 weeks, and I was wondering if any of you Got Apex? folks could hook me up, and tell me the "don't miss" places, as well as the "don't waste yer time" places in Boston? Resturants, bars, shopping, tourist sites... anything that you thing might help me out would be cool. Thanks! Hmm well if you can definately go to a sox game, those are the best and tix from a scalper are only like 15 bucks or so for bleacher seats, and go to newberry street, that is pretty cool. Check out harvard square, take the redline there. Well there is lots to do, but I am drawing a blank at the moment I will post some other stuff later. And if you are into clubbing there are tons of clubs right behind fenway, can't remember the name of the street right now. And yes you can catch a train to NYC, my friends do it all the time, takes a while though. __________________ yes definitly go to harvard sqaure. also if Quincy market is a nice place to go. there is also the aquarium with a nice tank in the middle - like 5 stories high __________________ Name of the street with all the clubs is Lansdowne St. Although, my favorite club is the Roxy, which is across town in the Theatre district. Jillian's is at the corner of Lansdowne and Ipswich st. It's pretty cool, has about 50 pool tables on the third floor and a bunch of video games on the second floor. Oh, and you can't beat the waitresses that bring you drinks. You can catch a Broadway show. The best time to buy tickets is at 11:00am from Bostix. The tickets are for the same day, but they're half price. Try Blue Ginger in Brookline, I can't remember the name of the Chef, but he's on the cooking channel. You can take the train to NY from South Station, you can catch a bus to NY there too, but the train is faster. There's lots to do and lots of good places to eat in Boston, depends on what you like to do. There are tons of bars in Boston if you're into that scene. What SUCKS about Boston is everything closes at 2am. Let me know what you like to do and I'll point you in the right direction. __________________ Yeah, check out Jillian's. I plan on going to the Aquarium, Harvard Square, Paul Revere's house, taking the train to NYC etc... I'm not much of a nightclub person, but we have a Jillians in Houston, so I know it's a good place to shoot some pool, and have a beer or two (or twelve). All of my meals are paid for, so I'll probably take in a few of the better resturants (oyster house etc..) Mostly what I'm interested in are the things that make Boston unique (history sites, tourist attractions, the big dig etc..). So if anyone has a few favorite places to eat, or some really cool stuff to do that's not listed on the tourist sites, that would be great. (better hurry and post 'em, cause I'm leaving in the morning.) Thanks again! __________________ Two good places to eat if you like steak, although they're expensive, is The Capital Grille on Newbury St, or Grill 23 on Boylston St. The Union Oyster House is okay, I think it's overrated. I hear it's the oldest restaurant in Boston. Legal Seafood is much better seafood. Anthony's is a pretty good place to eat, and the Barking Crab has good seafood, not expensive, and really casual. Both these places are in the Pier Area. If you like Italian, head over to the North End. Lots of Italian Restaurants and pastry shops. Of course, there's Chinatown. If you like Dim Sum, the best Place is probably China Pearl. In China Town, once all the other bars are closed, ask for the ah, hem, 'cold tea' If you like to shoot pool, there's a place near Fanueil Hall called "The Rack" It's a meat market, so only if you're single. One cool thing to do is to either go the the top of the Prudential Building or the new John Hancock Building. I think it's 4 bucks. These are the two tallest buildings in Boston and you get to see the city at a different perspective. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has great exhibits. They've got everything from different periods, including a cool Egyptian exhibit. There's one show you just have to see when you're out here. It's "The Blue Man Group" If you haven't heard of it, it's a really cool experience. Also, the Omni Theatre in the Museum of Science is a really cool show. The feature is shown in a dome with stadium seating and amazing sound system. You're surrounded by the picture almost. The best thing to do in Boston is to walk around. There are things all over the place. You probably have guessed by now that I love to go into Boston. I live very close to Boston and go every chance I get. Even if it's just to walk around and watch people. Also gives me practice on my hobby of Photography. Have fun!!
