I spotted this on Daily Radar back in December and haven't heard anything more about it. Have you? The Tick Attaching Itself To Fox -- Again 12/6/99 Spooon! The comic book franchise The Tick is getting another chance at Fox Broadcasting, this time through a live-action primetime series being developed for fall 2000. Fox will be hoping the series has better luck than a Saturday morning cartoon that launched on the Fox Kids' Network in 1995. While the show developed a cult following with adults -- repeats even landed on Comedy Central -- it was never a big hit and, unfortunately, canned after three seasons. The network has ordered a pilot for a half-hour action comedy to be executive produced by Barry Sonnenfeld and Barry Josephson (the duo behind ABC's Fantasy Island remake). For those who don't remember (we forgive you), The Tick, created by Ben Edlund, is a 400-pound blue superhero, who is aided by his sidekick, Arthur, a puny ex-accountant whose crime-fighting costume is a moth suit. The Tick and Arthur battled a number of villains including Chairface Chippendale (a genius with a chair for a head), El Seed (a Latin daisy with petals for hands) and the Breadmaster (an angry chef who is always cooking up a doomsday souffle). Let's hope The Tick has better luck attaching itself to Fox this time around.
