Help: Got unsolicited pornographic email

Can y'all help me. I got an unsolicited pornographic email the other day and I'm not too happy about it. First of all, I would never solicit that kind of thing and so I'm very angry someone would just send it to me. I don't know the person who did it and when I tried to send an angry reply I got something back saying there was a terminal error or something to that effect. It was somebody whose ip was Earthlink and so I emailed them and told them how that was a violation of their codes of appropriate use and that I would see that it goes to the proper authorities. They sent me something back saying they might investigate it or not. What do I do? I don't appreciate that email and I really want to hunt this s.o.b. down and tell him not to do stuff like that anymore. Thanks for whatever advice you can offer. Jennifer

Do you object to it on invasion-of-privacy grounds, or because you don't like pornography. I mean, you're really steamed up over this, and I can't really figure out why. Considering the amount of spam we all must get from these deals, I can only imagine it's due to the content. Here's a newsflash: porn is what drives the internet. Always has, always will. If you have ICQ, you'll get some wacky message from "Pinkangl" or some silly name like that with an adult link.
Just blow it off, and focus your rage somewhere else, because getting worked up over a porn solicitation will get old for you quite quickly! My suggestion is to take it out on other drivers.

I feel for you but the truth is that almost eeryone gets spammed. I just turn on a filter for it and ignore it. But if the mail is directed to you directly to hurt you then that is a different story from the spam everyone gets.

Yeah, I don't like the porn thing. I understand that it's the way the internet survives, but why do they have to send it to me? I don't even know the person who did it. I don't think it's harassment, necessarily, but I don't think it's a very nice thing to do to someone.
As for road rage, well, I generally take out my frustrations on other drivers. Unfortunately, my driving record reflects that fact.....

I guess you never used AOL...because when I was on I got at least 20 a day...no joke. So its odd to see someone overly upset about one. Be thankful you have a good ISP.

Actually, AOL is my isp. I know what you mean, though, because my mom used to be on it and the very day she signed up she got like 10 of those types of messages. I have been with AOL now since June and this is the first one I got. I know I'm being a little over-sensitive, but when you're a girl, those things tend to freak you out. I find it demeaning and a little frightening that someone could send that to me. Imagine if it were on the phone or door-to-door. It just feels unsafe and when you're a woman, things like that are particularly unsettling.

i suggest filtering these things out then. I know how u feel about those letters. I hate them a lot too but have grown use to them that i don't even think when chucking things out.

You used to be able to forward that stuff to tosemail@aol.com or something but I dont know if they still do that. I am also not sure how much pressure they can put on another ISP. It's something to try if you are really mad though.
